EvergreenHealth Foundation
PRK Livengood proudly represents EvergreenHealth
We have proudly represented EvergreenHealth Foundation since 1989, as well as representing EvergreenHealth Medical Center – King County Public Hospital Dist. No. 2 – since its 1972 inception.
For more than 30 years, the EvergreenHealth Foundation has existed to help EvergreenHealth pursue its mission to advance the health of the community, in countess tangible and meaningful ways.
As a separate non-profit organization, the Foundation is dedicated to supporting Kirkland’s integrated health system, EvergreenHealth, and the nearly one million patients and families in King and Snohomish counties who rely on EvergreenHealth’s breadth of services and programs that are among the most comprehensive in the region.
Together, the Foundation and its greater community work with individuals, other foundations and corporations to finance new programs and initiatives to expand health care on the Eastside, acquire new equipment that enables EvergreenHealth to remain on the cutting-edge of technology, provide uncompensated care and community health outreach and build new facilities for patient care and research.
Its signature annual fundraising event, the Evergreen Gala, brings together community leaders and generous donors to help raise funds critical to serving EvergreenHealth’s – and patients’ and families’ – greatest health care needs. The beloved event regularly draws hundreds of attendees to a spectacular evening in King County’s Marymoor Park, who have together raised millions of dollars over the gala’s history in support of EvergreenHealth.
In recent years, proceeds from the Evergreen Gala have helped beneficiaries lead the region in offering the latest medical technology to patients and families, while also helping EvergreenHealth expand its programs in services.
In 2018, the Gala helped the health system’s neuroscience program purchase a state-of-the-art biplane imaging machine, which offers the most advanced interventional medical imaging technology available, enabling physicians on the medical center’s Kirkland campus to treat life-threatening cardiac, vascular and neurovascular conditions, which otherwise wouldn’t be possible. Gala funds also allowed EvergreenHealth to become the first hospital in the Puget Sound region to offer breakthrough 3-D mammography imaging to aid in the diagnosis and screening of breast cancer.
EvergreenHealth held its 2020 Gala, which like many events during the COVID-19 pandemic, transitioned to a virtual format. The EvergreenHealth Foundation’s first virtual Evergreen Gala raised over $1.26 million for the new Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where construction is currently underway.
EvergreenHealth’s original ICU was built in the 1970s and has cared for some of the most vulnerable patients in the Eastside community for nearly 50 years. In 2020, EvergreenHealth’s ICU became the center of the fight against COVID-19 when the health system became the first hospital in the country to identify and treat an influx of patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The new ICU will be an expanded 22,000 square-foot unit located at the heart of the hospital that prioritizes patient safety and care with the addition of state-of-the-art technology and medical equipment. As it turns out, a global health crisis waits for no construction timetable. Once open, EvergreenHealth will be prepared for whatever comes its way next, ensuring the health system can continue to serve the families in the community for the next 50+ years.
2021 marked the 20th anniversary of the Evergreen Gala and was presented by Denali Advanced Integration. The Gala was a celebration of EvergreenHealth’s collective impact over the last two decades and an opportunity for the community to join together to benefit health care on the Eastside.
Proceeds from the 2021 Gala were invested in enhanced care for EvergreenHealth’s teeniest patients and their families—EvergreenHealth’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Together, the Gala’s donors benefited the NICU by enhancing and modernizing all facilities related to the continuum of care for newborns and their families, increasing capacity so patients can receive care in single-occupancy rooms and increasing access to stabilization and resuscitation equipment for all newborns.
